The Longdrift collectors circle is now hosted by the Paleobree website. Longdrift has developed over the past two years into an active buying and selling network. The selling gallery is now open to public access although the page is code protected.
The access code for the gallery can be obtained by emailing a request to firstname.lastname@example.org. Contacts will be added to the mailing list and alerted when the gallery is updated, usually on a quarterly basis. Contact details are not passed to third parties.
Longdrift acts as a bridge between sellers and prospective buyers. Every attempt is made to ensure that all pieces are authentic and as described. Seller's conditions vary but sellers and buyers are encouraged to negotiate a money-back guarantee of authenticity as a condition of payment.
The process is simple. Sellers forward details, proof of provenance, guide price and photographs to email@example.com If the piece is accepted, which is not always the case, the item will be posted at the next update.
All queries and offers - on, above or below the asking price - should be sent to firstname.lastname@example.org The prospective buyer's message and contact details are then forwarded to the seller. At that point, Longdrift hands over to the two parties. The decision to accept an offer - or to mediate between offers - is the seller's alone, as are issues of personal tax, liabilities, etc.
Payment systems, insurance, and postal methods vary from seller to seller but sellers are encouraged to use insured, trackable systems rather than normal postal services. Items are usually shipped on receipt of payment. Most sellers and buyers are experienced in the process.
Currently, Longdrift does not charge for gallery postings or receive a fee from sales, although donations are happily accepted.
